Comparing Conflicts

Hint Short Cut: Add this to your code & documentation to help you find this page.
http://www.notestemplates.com/#ShowConflictDetails or http://www.notestemplates.com/A555F9/nn.nsf/ByAlias/ShowConflictDetails

It would be nice if you could compare two conflict documents to see the differences so that you can choose which one to keep. Here's how.

There is an undocumented DLL-file supplied with Notes that will do this for
you. Just add this to your notes.ini file:

Close down Notes.

Edit you notes.ini file, and add the following line at the bottom:

AddInMenus=C:\Notes\nntediff.dll

Restart Notes, select the documetn and it's conflict.

You'll get an additional menu option under Actions called Difference of 2
documents. This neat feature will display all fields that differ and their
respectively content in an dialog box for review.

Of course, since it's undocumented, don't bet on it always being available
in future versions or it's behavior remaining constant.

Warning sometimes it will crash your notes client so save all your work first!

Web Services Platform Architecture: Soap, WSDL, WS-Policy, WS-Addressing, WS-Bpel, WS-Reliable Messaging and More by Francisco Curbera, Frank Leymann, Tony Storey, Donald Ferguson, Sanjiva Weerawarana
Other books claim to present the complete Web services platform architecture, but this is the first one I've seen that really does. The authors have been intimately involved in the creation of the architecture. Who better to write this book?
